Position summary

Description

Maintain and perform system intergration testing of Office 365, Citrix, Mobility, Active Directory and other applications used in the delivery of VWR IT infrastructure. Responsible for the control, intergerty, and accessability of the VWR Active Directory, Citrix and Client Management environments. Provide production and development support for the installed Infrastructure Applications. Monitor system activities and tune system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security of systems. Performs capacity analysis, monitor and control usage of system resources. Develop procedures for routine administration including shutdown and startup. Provide recommendations for improving the Infrastructure Application environment (VWR Active Directory, Citrix and Client Management environments), such as capacity thresholds, security gaps, patch levels, upgrades and hardware configurations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Active Directory, Citrix, McAfee, E-Mail and Windows Subject matter expert for multiple project teams.
  • Utilizes administration skills (Windows, Active Directory, McAfee, Citrix, Email as appropriate) to maintain, manage, administer access and controls, and upgrades of the server infrastructure as well as provide 24x7 system support. Provides production and development support for the installed Infrastructure Applications.
  • Interacts with vendors to configure Infrastructure Applications and the integration into today’s business applications
  • Ensures availability of Infrastructure applications (ie. Citrix, AD, McAfee, Email)
  • Plans, schedules, & installs system upgrades and patches.
  • Assists Internal & external audit with fieldwork information gathering for SOX or operational audits.
  • Provides Level 3 support for Regional and Shared Services
  • Performs administration tasks for Active Directory, Citrix, Office 365 and other infrastructure applications

Experience & Skills:

  • Knowledge: 1-3 years of Windows, Citrix, SAN
  • Skills: Troubleshooting, scripting
  • Abilities: Reliability, Maintain composure in pressure situations, professional interaction, crossteam interaction
  • Candidate must be self-sufficient, self-starting and able to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to configure, install and troubleshoot hardware, OS, & third party software.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team member.
  • Ability to support on-call for production support and scheduled off-hours /weekend work.
  • Team player with good oral and written communication skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Vendor training in the hardware or software utilized in our Wintel environment
  • 1-3+ years applicable IS work experience

 

Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

  • Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
  • A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
  • Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
